Malacanang welcomes Boholano balikbayans

 

Some 200 Boholanos arriving in Manila were extended a grand welcome at Malacañang yesterday afternoon, en route for a grand homecoming in Tigum Bol-anon Tibook Kalibutan (TBTK) in Bohol.

The group, composed mostly of balikbayans and Boholanos based in Metro Manila, was welcomed by Deputy Executive Secretary Jake Lahonera and Appointment Secretary Bong Joves, who both received instructions from Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to extend a grand welcome to the Boholano balikbayans led by Betty Veloso-Garcia, TBTK president who arrived from the United States. FULL STORY

SIGN CHEAP MEDICINE
IMPLEMENTING LAW NOW

 
 We strongly enjoin President GMA to sign within 10 days or less the MRP (Maximum Retail Price) Law on essential medicines in order to implement
the Cheaper Medicines Law or RA 9052 which she signed (more than a year ago) in June 2008.

RP is one of those countries where only a mere 30% of the population has access to essential medicines either because of their steep prices or unavailability. A large percentage of the poor populace of this Third World country dies - without being able to see a doctor or get the proper medication. FULL TEXT

MANILA. A Philippine National Police (PNP) doctor said on yesterday that Legacy owner Celso de los Angeles is very sick and cannot be moved from the St. Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City to the PNP General Hospital.

Dr. Louie Bautista of the PNP Health Service told reporters at the hospital that de los Angeles has stage-4 throat cancer, high blood pressure and diabetes. FULL STORY
