Sewage lines opened

 

The drainage problem that has been solved by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) with the help of Gov. Erico Aumentado last December is threatening once more to pollute Tagbilaran bay.

Without warning and acting on orders from City Hall, city engineers Pianicita Castolo and Servando Acedo supervised the unplugging of sewer connections along intersections at CPG Avenue and B. Inting, M.H. Del Pilar and G. Visarra Streets Monday night.

"SOLVED." - The spillover of liquid with foul odor, presumably coming from the old sewerage lines at intersections of CPG Ave, B. Inting and Del Pilar sts) was virtually solved when the culverts were re-opened Monday night by a crew from the City Engineers Office.

16 BOHOL TOWNS "WATERLESS"

 
 "Waterless municipalities", according to NAPC (National Anti-Poverty Commission), are those towns where less than 50% of HH (Households) have access to potable water.

There are currently 432 "waterless" towns in the country, 16 of which are located in Bohol-rivers, lakes and waterfalls, notwithstanding. There are also 210 such communities in Metro Manila, according to NAPC. FULL TEXT

Malacañang tells SEC
exec to go on leave

MANILA.- Malacañang yesterday ordered Securities and Exchange Commissioner Jesus Martinez Jr. to take a leave of absence after he was accused of protecting Legacy Group owner Celso de los Angeles.

"Martinez should go on leave effective immediately to ensure an impartial investigation by the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) and other investigative bodies on the charges against him," Press Secretary Cerge Remonde told reporters.
