PDIC checking for
fake deposit claims

 

Examiners of the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) are suspicious of fake money claims on insured deposits of the closed Pilipino Rural Bank (PRBank) Tagbilaran Branch.

The careful evaluation of deposit claims has delayed the releases to depositors even as the PDIC ends its first batch of payout on Friday, March 6. FULL STORY

 
DEPOSITORS AWAIT. Thousands of depositors at the local branch of Pilipino Rural Bank continue to await release of their claims as insured by the PDIC. The bank assures to expedite processing of their claims even as PDIC says it will check on possible fake claims.
Governor Erico B. Aumentado presiding over the meeting with the key representatives of the 46 certified Irrigators Association (IA) benefiting from the provinces BHIP (Bayongan, Pilar & Malinao) dams for conversion of these IAs into cooperatives in order for these organizations to avail of the benefits Credit Surety Fund. The meeting was conducted at the Farmer's Hall at the NIA-Ubay Compound on March 2, 2007. Key personalities Present during the activity were Chief of Staff/BPRMO Head Antonieto I. Pernia, PAO Head Liza M. Quirog, NIA Project Manager Modesto Membreve, BAPC Head Engr. Eugene Cahiles, PGSO Chief Engr. Edwin Vallejos along with Engr. Junin Caberte and Talibon Mayor Juanario Etem who made a testimonial supporting the endeavor.

MANILA. For weeks, bankrupt Legacy Group's founder Celso de los Angeles has been a fixture at congressional investigations into the collapse of his rural banks and pre-need firms. But de los Angeles consistently denied allegations that he stole depositors money in an elaborate Ponzi scheme.

Even in a recent interview on ANC's The Big Picture, de los Angeles denied that he defrauded depositors and investors.
