
'Swine
flu' alert status
Amid
threats of a global pandemic of the deadly H1N1 virus or swine influenza, the
province is now placed on alert status.
In
a meeting with Gov. Erico Aumntado last Friday at the People's Mansion, health,
agriculture officials and municipal mayors were informed by the governor that
"strict quarantine measures in all ports of entry should be imposed". FULL

Health officials yesterday sought at least P90 million in additional funds to
buy anti-viral supplies and prevent any outbreak in the Philippines of a deadly
new flu virus that has hit at least 11 countries around the world.
