450 LTO deputies against robbers, errant drivers

 

Vowing to intensify its crackdown against errant motorcycle drivers and help in the arrest of highway robbers, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) will deputize some 450 men here in the city and in the 47 municipalities.

LTO-Tagbilaran chief Joel Maloloy-on said they will coordinate closely with the police Highway Patrol Group to implement traffic rules and apprehend unregistered motor vehicles. FULL STORY

MANILA. Voting unanimously, 28-0, the House committee on justice declared the impeachment complaint against Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez sufficient in form.

The impeachment complaint against Gutierrez was filed by former Senator Jovito Salonga and other concerned citizens. It accused Gutierrez of betrayal of public trust and culpable violation of the Constitution for sitting on "clear graft and corruption cases, some leading to the President herself or that of her closest associates."
