Three dead due to
typhoon 'Ondoy'?

Three persons were dead in separate drowning incidents in eastern towns due to flash floods on the onset of tropical depression "Ondoy" late last week.

In an interview yesterday, P01 Christopher Aceron of Jagna police station confirmed that a certain Aldrin Honasa, 35 years old resident of barangay Canjulao, Jagna town drowned due to flash floods in Jagna town last week.

Police report said that Honasa, who was drunk teased to his family, that he can swim in the flash floods along the Canjulao river.

Conflicting reports bared that while drunk he waded the river towards his house right across but did not make it through.

Honasa's lifeless body was retrieved nearby the town seaport of barangay Looc, police said.

In Duero, an adjacent town of Jagna, Joseph Rances, 22 years old, single and a resident of Poblacion, this town also drowned. His lifeless body was recovered somewhere in barangay Itum, about a kilometer from the river.

Rances was reportedly drunk when he fell into the river. His house is located beside the river.

In a separate interview, Candijay Mayor Sergio Amora, Jr. said he heard report about a lifeless body found somewhere in the hinterland barangay of Canawa.

Amora, who was attending to the sports activity hosted by his town, said that the lifeless body remained unidentified as of this writing and cause of the death remained clueless.

He added that some officials of barangay Tugas are looking for a missing person. But they still cannot confirm if the body found in Canawa is the one they are looking for.

They were victims by natural calamity (flash floods) along the river beside the public markets of Jagna and Duero. (RVO)
