Crucial meeting on Panglao Airport with GMA set Oct. 6

The fate of the multi-billion Panglao Bohol International Airport will be known during a crucial meeting with Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in Malacanang on Oct. 6.

In attendance during the meeting will be the heads of the national government agencies involved in the proposed project which was earlier announced by the President to be completed by April next year.

MANILA. At least 10 people were reported dead or missing and more than 1,800 were forced to evacuate as tropical storm Ondoy (international codename: Ketsana) lashed the Philippines yesterday, officials said.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo declared a state of calamity in Metro Manila and in 25 Luzon provinces as heavy rains brought by the storm caused the worst flooding seen in the capital in some 20 years. FULL STORY

Three dead due to
typhoon 'Ondoy'?


Three persons were dead in separate drowning incidents in eastern towns due to flash floods on the onset of tropical depression "Ondoy" late last week.

In an interview yesterday, P01 Christopher Aceron of Jagna police station confirmed that a certain Aldrin Honasa, 35 years old resident of barangay Canjulao, Jagna town drowned due to flash floods in Jagna town last week. FULL STORY

The Plaridel Central Elementary School and Calamba National High School of Misamis Occidental are participating in the prestigious Alturas Drum and Bugle Corps Showdown, scheduled this year at the CPG Sports Complex on November 22.

Mr. Tony Barros, a drum and bugle corps trainor based in Mindanao, confirmed that the two schools are joining in Category A to challenge the defending champion CVSCAFT and compete with the other best corps in Bohol like the Holy Cross Academy in Tubigon. FULL STORY
