maker shoots movie here

Boholano
RD Alba, who took up his film studies in the U.S.A after graduating from high
school in Tagbilaran City, is directing a film in the province under the executive
production of Cesar Montano and DR. Disi Yap-alba of Alba Productions.
The
movie, entitled Biktima, is a psychological-thriller suspense story which topbills,
aside from Montano, the Hollywood actor Philip Anthony & popular Filipino
stars like Sunshine Cruz, Angel Aquino & Lloyd Samartino, among others.
Director
Alba bared to "SMILE" that the movie will be using the very expensive
high-end Red One camera with post production to be done in Hollywood (U.S.A.)
employing again the latest in Red Code editing.

Alba, who recently had his TV directorial debut in the series dubbed as "Kapalaran",
has speedily risen to greater heights when said teleserye became a favorite among
the ABS-CBN viewers in the Mindanao and Visayas areas for two years.
The
teleserye which movie critics claim as Visayan's finest, starred Joel Torre, Chanda
Romero, Luke Mejares, Gino Antonio, Gloria Sevilla and Pilar Pilapil with the
special participation of Montano and Cruz.
Director
Alba and Montano also worked together before in the "Panaghoy sa Suba"
fame of Bohol that won many awards given by prestigious awarding bodies. The movie
had DR. Disi Alba and Cruz as associate producers. | For
his part, Hollywood actor Philip Anthony, has all praises for the province. This
is a comeback visit for him since he was here before playing the role of the American
in "Panaghoy sa Suba" and "Brandon" in "Kapalaran".
He will be co-producing "Biktima" with Ray Cuerdo of Sony Pictures.
Meanwhile,
Director Alba also bared that Gerrymar Araneta - Batoy , a computer engineer,
who has developed a passion for photography and Ardy Araneta-Batoy, his mother,
have been included in the list of names for the movie.
Both
Gerrymar (who will be doing the still shots) and Ardy ( for a bit acting role)
will be representing the "SMILE" events coordinating team and met with
Director Alba last Saturday, February 6 for the location shoot in Tagbilaran City
- the place where the latter grew up and studied as an honor student in elementary
& high school and where Montano is running for governor.
Director
Alba used to be a close classmate of Gerrymar in High School at the Bohol Wisdom
School and both were coached by Batoy for performing arts where RD became provincial
champion in declamation and Gerrymar, a provincial champion in Visayan Poetry.
