Chinese New Year at Alona
K. Resort/Spa

PANGLAO. What used to be a four bungalow-resort some 25 years ago, Alona Kew White Beach Resort Spa will formally open tomorrow its 65 additional rooms to make it the biggest resort along the white sandy shorelines of Alona in barangay Tawala, in this tourists' haven island.

DOT Secretary Ace Durano and DOT Regional Director Dawnie Roa were invited to grace the soft opening of the resort at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow.

The opening will prepare the resort for a 100% occupancy for the Chinese New Year.

Chinese guests are booked on Thursday to fill in every room of the resort.

The 65 well appiointed rooms, equipped with flat screen TV monitors will bring to 115, the number of rooms, from the newly completed two-storey building down to the its original beach front site.

In tandem with the room expansion, the resort has a 1000-pax capacity function area which can hosts conventions and other major functions.

In addition to the spacious function room, the resort boats of its new restaurant beefed up with a chef whose experience assures of a good international cuisine, including Chinese and Japanese foods.

Tomorrow's opening will kick-off the resort's operations as its 100-personnel will prepare to welcome their guests for the Chinese New Year on Thursday. The resort will register a 100% occupancy for the celebration.

At its basement will soon open the modern disco zone in Panglao.

Resort owners, Evelyn Naval Witte and Willy Flores will welcome tomorrow's guests as they vowed to dedicate this multi-million expansion undertaking for the tourism growth of the province.

The expansion came in time for the resort's 25th anniversary on Dec 15 this year.
