394 Bohol athletes in CVIRAA

Some 394 Bohol athletic delegation, excluding selected players from the Tagbilaran City division is now in Cebu in time for today's start of athletic hostilities of the 2010 Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet at the Danao City Sports Complex.

The Bohol province contingent numbering more than 500, including meet officials left for Cebu at noon time Thursday aboard a Lite Shipping vessel to attend yesterday's opening ceremonies. They are housed in a sports complex some three kilometers from the main venue.

According to Cirilo Calatrava, Physical Education Sports Supervisor (PESS), invitations were also sent to Gov. Erico B. Aumentado and Bohol's three congressmen for them to attend the opening rites. Division Supt. Lorna E. Rancesand her three assistants also joined the delegation.

Bohol province logged in a respectable third place finish in the 2009 CVIRAA event behind perennial champion Cebu City and Cebu province.

Calatrava said the Bohol contingent held a final pre-departure briefing last Tuesday and Wednesday at the Valencia High School. A Holy Mass ushered the two-day briefing with high hopes of improving last year's performance. (manny b.)
