Rich is a Denial Princess?

Around 800 people from the American Embassy, the diplomatic corps, the Philippine government, non-government organizations and other guests attended the Philippine-American Friendship Day celebration on July 4.

A baseball tournament was held with several Philippine baseball teams. Participants of various ages and from different leagues gathered to sing the Philippine National Anthem. U.S. Ambassador Harry K. Thomas, Jr. and other U.S. Embassy representatives were present to celebrate this holiday in a fun and casual event.

American food and music dominated the night at Johnny Rockets Restaurant in

Celebrating U.S. Independence Day and Philippine-American Friendship Day at the American Embassy in Manila, U.S. Ambassador Harry K. Thomas Jr. (center) proposes a toast with Philippine Foreign Affairs Sec. Alberto Romulo (left) and Dean of Diplomatic Corps Arch. Edward Joseph Adams (right).
Libis, Quezon City. Johnny "Elvis" Thompson jammed with popular musician Ramon "RJ" Jacinto. American burgers, classic rock-and-roll music, and a fantastic fireworks display made the event a perfect 4th of July Celebration in the Philippines.

Ambassador Thomas said "The Philippines celebrated the joyous inauguration of a new president, a new vice president, and a new vision for the future. I was inspired by the energy, the enthusiasm, the hope that surrounded the stadium and filled the streets of Manila. Great things are possible, but hard work lies ahead. We stand ready, as a friend, to assist."

Filipino-American Friendship Day was first celebrated on July 4, 1963. Before this date, the Filipino people celebrated July 4 since 1946 as Philippine Independence Day. This was the day in 1946 when United States President Harry S. Truman proclaimed United States withdrawal, surrendering all rights of possession, supervision, jurisdiction, and control of sovereignty, and recognizing the independence of the Philippines.

Happy 4th day of July!

William & Gretchen: Beautiful love story

William Lim and Gretchen Guerrero

The love story of William Lim and Gretchen Guerrero is fit for a romance flick.

The beautiful bride couldn't contain her excitement, as the groom gazed lovingly at his bride. It was a scene straight out of a movie with a happily-ever-after ending.

They met as nurse and they began going steady until they got married on June 11, 2010 at Castaway Restaurant in Burbank, California.

William's parents Elda Orbina and his step-dad Mark Orbina and Gretchen's parents William and Emelita Guerrero, sponsors and guests witnessed the exchanged of "I dos." Wlliam's aunt, the first Miss Bohol Sandugo Wenny Lim (who got the crown in 1988) attended the wedding.

"They are perfect couple!" said fashionista and socialite Mikey Gatal who exclusively covered the event for Bared.

Here is Mikey:

The way the sun looks in their eyes, and life is always full of surprises looking at this beautiful couple .I'm so amazed a love like this exists, my heart melts every time they kissed, they are so in love with each other and this is barely just the beginning of their lives and hearing them said "I do, I do, I do love you…"

William and Gretchen look so happy and in love. Love is one of the greatest blessings the Lord has given the world. They were extremely happy, she's never looked so beautiful and there are no words that can even begin to express how beautiful ( and cute) the wedding pictures are… This will be a new and exciting chapter in their lives and a new road that will bring them much happiness and love. So thrilled and happy for the newlyweds.

During the wedding, they have had so many snapshot memories that were perfect and shared. The smiles of love from all their close family, seeing Gretchen kissing her new husband for the first time, walking down the aisle hand in hand.

William was kind of emotional that night, looking back and remembering all the details of what he had been through and I felt a warmth in my heart as I praise the Lord for His blessings for this young couple.

Weeks ago, actor Aljur Abrenica denied on TV that Rich Asuncion was never his girlfriend. And Rich Asuncion also denied that Aljur was never her boyfriend.

So, what is really the truth?

Denial No. 1: They are not lovers. Both gave a safe answer on TV: "Naging mahalagang bahagi siya ng buhay ko!"

Aljur Abrenica and Rich Asuncion: Have they or haven't they?

The Truth: Aljur and Rich are real lovers. According to my good friend and veteran entertainment writer Ricky Lo "They did go steady but on the sly because Aljur was prevented ("ordered"?) from telling the truth since his loveteam-up with Kris Bernal was being marketed even if in real life the two were never "on."

Sir Ricky wrote in his widely-read column in The Philippine Star: "Philippine Television's Last Prince is also real life's Denial Prince. On the hot seat of the Don't Lie To Me segment of the GMA showbiz talk show Showbiz Central last Sunday, Aljur Abrenica was asked by host John "Sweet" Lapuz if he and Rich Asuncion had ever gone steady. Aljur answered "No!" but the lie-detector machine revealed the truth: LIE!"

Denial No.2: What intriguing is that Rich vehemently denied on TV that she didn't go home last year to spend time with Aljur. Aljur and Kris were shooting Nandito Ako…Umiibig Sa 'yo in Bohol.

The Truth: We were reacting! Is it Rich wants to say Ricky Lo's column is not true?

The truth is Rich did go home on July 13, 2009. We'd checked the resort's record and the room reservation was named after her. He met Aljur in a resort in Panglao (not on Alona as Aljur and the group were billeted in) in a "romantic room" where they enjoyed the "southwest monsoon." Said VRS, "I have to hang myself if I am not telling you the truth!"

Denial No 3: Nobody saw them because she wasn't in Bohol.

The Truth: Who doesn't know Rich? VRS said that they did check-in at 6 p.m and check-out at 6 a.m. the following day. They ordered San Miguel Light.

Continued VRS, "And what they're doing inside the room? Praying the rosary?"

You have been a bad, bad girl, Gaga este Rich! Hehehehe

Hot, juicy items on blind corner

o Could it be true that these male students and part-time models are flirting with each other via texting? Both are committed with their partners. One has to settle down this year. A VRS saw them as sweety-pie in a restaurant.

o The Penmasters', the official student publication of the University of Bohol and The Lampbearers' Voice of the UB High School Evening Session conducted the seminar-workshop on campus journalism. The campus writers were exposed on the latest trends on journalism. Ms. Jheinena Cimafranca Clarin is the moderator.

o Sad news for the ardent followers (including Tere Gohetia, Margie Palamine, Nicolo Gonzales and yours truly) of Queen Seon Deok on GMA 7: Lady Mishil decided to end the civil war and her life because of her love for Shilla. Go Hyun Jung has really excelled in her role as Mishil and carried the drama even though she was not the main character. In the end, all she wanted was to rule Shilla for she loved it more than anyone else. "I need the heavens to be on my side... Why could I have not been born of sacred bone? Should even surrender prove impossible? On that day, demise shall be your best compeer...Now is Mishil's time…" We will be missing you Lady Mishil!
