Almost
ten months after the sweeping in barangay Mayana, Jagna, the highway passing through
Sierra-Bullones town is now open to vehicles.
Cong.
Eladio M. Jala of the third district bared in an interview last week.
Information
officer Neil Berro of this town also confirmed it during the meeting of the Association
of United Development Information Officers (AUDIO) at La Roca Hotel last week.
Jala
said that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) third engineering
district based in Guindulman town initiated to make the national highway passable.
The
landslide, which became "unstable and moving" for months, has rendered
the hinterland highway practically impassable. But after the landslide stabilized,
highway officials decided to restore the mud-covered road.
Meanwhile,
Jala also bared that he has sourced out funds inserted in the General Appropriations
Act this year under the DPWH for concreting of some portion of the highway to
commence this year. He added that P7 million can help kick off the concrete
paving works. (RVO) |
