The suspects, identified as Joselito Taghoy, 24, and Modesto Diacor, 18, both residents of barangay Rufo Hill, Buenavista town were brought to the Intelligence and Investigation Section, Camp Dagohoy yesterday for interrogation.

According to the suspects, around 2 o'clock in the morning last Thursday, during the town fiesta of Inabanga, they went to barangay Cagayan of said town to visit a lady friend when SPO1 Mar allegedly shot at

them, for no apparent reason, hitting the left calf of Taghoy.

Diacor was able to draw his .38 caliber revolver and fired back at the police officer hitting him on the chest.

Mar was rushed to the nearby Francisco Dagohoy Municipal Hospital (FDMH) were he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Diacor fled the crime scene but Taghoy, who was bleeding from his gunshot wound took refuge in a deserted area where he was spotted around 7 o'clock in the morning by a resident who reported him to the police.

He was brought to Dagohoy Hospital but was later transferred to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital here for further treatment.

Meanwhile, Diacor surrended to Buenavista Mayor Leandro Tirol last Friday, who later turned him over to police authorities.

Police are still investigating into the cause of said shootout.
