Island City marks 2nd anniv, June 26
 By ARIEL E. FULLIDO

Two years may be a bit short, but that is more than enough for Island City Mall to become the ultimate shopping haven in Bohol, giving birth to a new concept in shopping, dining, leisure and entertainment that totally changes the lifestyle of the Boholanos!

MALL FUN AND BEYOND. Island City Mall celebrates its 2nd
Anniversary with the theme, "Mall Fun and Beyond!," which
reflects the promises that there's something more to look forward
to at the mall. (Ariel E. Fullido)

-------------------------------------------------------
As Island City Mall is set to celebrate its 2nd Anniversary on June 26, several activities have been lined up to make the celebration more memorable for the thousands of Boholanos who have taken the mall as their favorite shopping destination.

Taking centerstage of the anniversary celebration is the Midnight Sale on June 24, Saturday, where the mall is open until 12 midnight and discounts of up to 50% will be given away on great selections. To add glitter to the Midnight Sale, Sugarfree will rock the mall carpark on Saturday evening,
June 24, starting at 8:00 o' clock, with special guest bands, 5-Star and Centerstage. Admission is free for every single cash purchase worth P200 at the Island City Mall anchor stores and tenant shops, starting June 17 to 24.

An awardee in the 2003 NU 107 Rock Awards for Best New Artist and Album of the Year, and Best Rock and Best Alternative Song in the 2004 Awit Awards, Sugarfree is behind the hits "Makita Ka Muli," the theme song of the popular TV series, "Panday;" "Tulog Na" and "Hari ng Sablay" which was made into a movie. Heavily influenced by the likes of Popsicle, Oasis and Radiohead, Sugarfree is composed of Ebe Dancel (vocals/guitars), Jal Taguibao (bass guitar), and Mitch Singson (drums).

The Sugarfree concert at the carpark also features I-Style fashion show with Salt & Pepper, Hot Men, Formal Ensembles from the collections of Harley Ruedas, La Tribo Drummers, Mudcake, Acoustics, and "Little Big Star" national finalists, Kathleen Joy Escobedo and Genevieve Abuloc. The concert event will be highlighted by a grand fireworks display by WOW Fireworks.
