This
is supposed to be in our Inbox last Sunday but we opened our e-mail accounts only
yesterday morning.
At
any rate, Misael Y. Laurden who is now based in Jamaica, New York sought our assistance
to relay his most sincere fiesta greetings. Thus, we are re-printing his e-mail
in full here.
"Happy
fiesta Tagbilaran.
Just
last night April 29,2006, I attended for the first time the San Jose Fiesta Celebration
of the Tagbilaranons in Eastern USA held in New Jersey. Am so glad and feel like
home.
I met
many Tagbilaranons and Boholanos as well. What an experience I have with them.
How I wish I could attend our fiesta here but in two years now since I work here
in New York as a teacher, it is difficult for me to come home during fiesta time.
Am sending
you this mail so that through you I am extending my regards to all Tagbilaranons
and Calapenhons who will also celebrate their fiesta on May 10, 2006.
To
the people of Dao Tagbilaran City, Happy Fiesta too on May 3, 2006.Viva Sta Cruz! To
my family in Dao and Calape (Castillo and Laurden) my fiesta greetings. Thank
you and God bless." We
also got this fiesta greetings from Steven Suganob and other Boholanos both here
and abroad through our e-mail accounts. The list is quite long but we shall endeavor
to mention them in our future columns.

We
attended last week the Easter Visayas Regional Convention of the Integrated Bar
of the Philippines at the Waterfront in Lahug, Cebu City.
The
IBP gab focused on the rights of the children which was also the theme of the
legal topics discussed during the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE)
inserted during the convention. Atty. Salvador Diputado, IBP-Bohol president,
led the delegation of lawyers, judges and prosecutors from Bohol who attended
the convention which culminated last Saturday.

The
"Stars of the Future" boxing event at the ICM Carpark on the night of
the vesper's day last Sunday brought Tagbilaran City again in the sports limelight.
We
were privileged enough to join the publicity to cover up perhaps for our failed
bid to post our tarpaulins in strategic areas of the city for our fiesta greetings.
The
delayed telecast of the bout not only gave us the opportunity to watch the boxing
event right at the comforts of our home. We shall deal lengthily on that sports
event on Sunday. Stay stuck!
