Island
City Mall pays tribute to all mothers with fun and merriment through its "Mother's
Day" Special at the mall today, May 14.
One
can treat Mom to an entertainment at the mall today with a variety show, featuring
the Grand Questors of "Circle of 10 Teen Quest" 2006 and their moms,
at the Activity Center, at 4:00 o' clock this afternoon.
Celebrate
also the occasion with great excitement in a mini-amusement park at the Island
City Mall parking area, which features giant inflatable slides and bounce. Kids
and the whole family can enjoy the Titanic, Tiger Bounce, and Cinderella single
slides. The slides and bounce amusement park is only open until today.
At
Screenville Cinema 2, the kids and the whole family can watch the hit comedy adventure
flick, "Nanny McPhee," a film about seven naughty children who lost
their mother and crave more attention than ever from their father. The kids stage
nasty antics just to send their nannies out. But their mischief worsens when they
find out that their father will remarry soon. The children may be the most unruly
in the world, but their antics are no match for Nanny McPhee, a mysterious figure
who appears in their front door one night (see movie review).
Other
perks and privileges await Moms today at the mall with a wide array of discount
treats at Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, KFC, Rai-Rai Ken, Dunkin Donuts, Goldilocks,
Foodwalk and Bread Cottage.
Alturas
PR Manager, Loy M. Palapos, said today is a special day when we celebrate mothers,
a perfect time to let them know how much we appreciate their presence in our lives.
He added that mothers are a blessing to everyone who gives life, nurtures and,
regardless of our many flaws and shortcomings, continuously shower us with unconditional
love. The
observance of Mother's Day every second Sunday of May was first started by US
President Woodrow Wilson who made the official announcement in 1914. |
