STUCK IN MIDAIR

Being stuck here in Cebu City as of press time last night on our way to Davao City for an urgent legal work, did not necessarily give us the mind set to scribble for today's issue.

Be that as it may, we have to rise up to the occasion and do our task.

From our court duties in Carmen town last Friday we proceeded to Sierra-Bullones then take the circuitous route to Cebu City via Tubigon hoping to catch up the afternoon flight to Davao City.

Apparently, we were stuck in midair.

What bolstered our ego though is the report coming from Executive Assistant Mark Monton on the 10-round victory of our very own King Czar Amonsot despite being downed in the first round by his opponent.

Amonsot won the bout by unanimous decision- a typical Amonsot victory as in the past. While he may not have the killer punch and strength of co-Boholano Rey "Boom-Boom" Bautista, Amonsot has the heart and the determination to win despite the odds.

All told, Amonsot's winning streak continues although it was not necessarily a title bout for Tagbilaran City's current boxing pride.

Meanwhile, we also learned from Monton that Along Deloy, another Boholano pugilist, survived the onslaught of his opponent through a technical draw in the second round.

Well, Deloy has yet to hone his talents in order to come closer to the likes of AJ Banal who is fast-getting the respect of boxing enthusiasts.

So much for boxing. Let Manny Bautista do the reporting.

We already amplified our position in the so-called Golden Arm committee investigation involving our LSA in this corner last Wednesday.

A further elucidation of the same may already be construed as pre-empting the outcome of the investigation.

Let's keep our fingers crossed as we await the committee recommendation as well as the action to be taken by the city vice-mayor as an offshoot of the probe.
