Adding to the festive mood of Sandugo Celebration in July, top-of-the-line products of Bohol and of neighboring provinces will be featured during the month-long Product Fairs and Expositions in strategic areas of the city.

As this year's celebration is coinciding with the 3rd Global Homecoming of Boholanos (Tigum Bol-anon Tibuok Kalibutan), the Bohol Sandugo Foundation, Inc. (BSFI) mapped out this shift from a province to a nation-wide scale to afford balikbayans with country's finest yields without having to leave the province.

The Agri-Fair with its display of locally produced agricultural products will be held at the Agricultural Promotions Center and New City Hall Compound. Davao's walingwaling, General Santos' tuna, and Camiguin's lanzones are a few attractions. To propagate information on the newest innovation in agriculture, a skills training for the exhibitors will be spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture Provincial Director Nunila Pinat, chairman of the committee on Agri-Fair.

"No fly-by-night exhibitors and strictly no 'Ukay-ukay in the Trade Fair" bared by its chairman, Albert Yap. To be placed along the Tagbilaran City Tourist Port, Trade Fair will accommodate some 20 well-built stalls to market quality arts and crafts only. Transacions with experienced marketers from Mindanao and other interested parties are on-going.

Displayed beside the Trade Fair, the Food Fair will be exclusive to established restaurants and food chains. This is to ascertain delectable dishes are served especially that a number of tourists and balikbayans are expected. The Food Fair is likewise chaired by Mr. Yap.

While, agri, trade and food fairs opening will still be on July 1, City Mayor Dan Neri Lim, BSFI chairman, assures to construct well-designed booths to accommodate all these exhibitors.

Meanwhile, the Departent of Trade and Industry, headed by Regional Director Asteria Caberte and Provincial Head Ma. Elena Arbon, will also mount the Sandugo Regional Product Showcase themed "Pride of the Islands, beyond boundaries". Slated at the Island City Mall on July 20-23, this will be participated in by four provinces comprising the region namely, Cebu, Bohol, Oriental Negros, and Siquijor. The event is projected to forge market linkages and business relationships among participants.

Interested individuals and firms who could sustain the month-long Product Marketing may inquire at the BSFI Secretariat, 3/F New City Hall Building. (BSFI Secretariat/David S. Maulas)
