center open for Alturas, BQ linkage | | | Through
the proposed Tagbilaran City Business Center, there is possibility of linking
Alturas and BQ Mall by constructing two overpasses across CPG Avenue and B. Inting
Street, this city. This
idea is part of the on-going conceptualization of the major project of Mayor Dan
Lim that the public views as his diploma project during his first
three-year term as city chief executive. With
the business center situated right in the heart of the citys commercial
district, Lim said, it sounds logical if the two major shopping centers would
connect the proposed business center in order for the shoppers to have easy access
to proceed to either BQ or Alturas. FULL

IS THE MISSING LINK | | | Globalization
does not always equalize the playing field among the rich and poor nations as
it was originally envisioned. This
is because the three factors of production land, labor and capital are
not equal among nations. Some
people do not own land or land is expensive to obtain in some countries compared
to others. Labor cost is also more expensive in some than others or are
less efficient thus increasing the cost of production. Finally, there is no capital
available in some nations or worse, is available at prohibitive costs that erase
the margins the poor enjoy on their small business. These are sets of reality
in the Philippines today. FULL
